First Entry

Hello! My name is Marissa Earnhart and here is my Blog on what iPad/iPod Applications that I feel are most useful and fun that I come across in the App Store!  I will probably post each entry based on one App at a time but I may also compare and contast a few together.  I chose this topic because I just bought myself an iPad and never owning anything Apple before, I'm really amazed on how it works and all the interesting things that come with it, such as the Applications.  I will start with my favorite game application, World Of Goo.

World of Goo

For: iPad

World of Goo caught my eye under "Top Charts" in the App Store. The game had 4 1/2 star rating, so I checked it out and read some of the good customer reviews.  The graphics and the artwork caught my eye in  the pictures and it seemed to be some sort of puzzle-like game so I decided to buy it for $9.99 (I know, $10 for an App lol but it seemed worth it, and it was).  The game itself starts out with you, as the player, viewing a planet which is colored black until you unlock each area. Each area has about 10 levels each and the point of the game is to connect different Goo Balls with different attibutes, together to reach a pipe with sucks them in for your points.  Each level you have a different amount of Goo Ball you are suppose to collect to reach the next level.  What I like about the game is that as you play, you have to sort of teach yourself what to do and learn which Goo Balls do what (such as stick to walls, rubber, float or pop). There is brief directions on what to do each level by messages left by "The Mysterious Sign Painter" haha but they sometimes don't make much sense.
Im on area 3 out of 5 and its getting pretty tricky.  There are some tutorials that I've seen on the game if you get really stuck.  Other than that the game is great. Its really smooth and sensitive to the touch which is good for this type of game.  The music and the sound effects are also really pretty neat!

Well, thats it for my first entry. Here is a video from YouTube of World of Goo!
