Web MD App

Web MD

For: iPad/iPod

When I'm not feeling so well or in pain but not sure why, I would like to find out. This is the application that can help solve your problems.  Web MD is used for checking your symptoms,  finding the right medicine,  treatment information, as well as pill identification and Local Health Listings.  It is also a website but having it as an App is so much more straight foward.  Alough its not ment to diagnose or treat diseases,  it can give you general feedback on what the problem MIGHT be.

As you start the App, a list pops up and the first listed is the Symptom Checker.  Say you have swelling on the right side of your ankle.  As you click symptom checker, a male or female body appears and you would click the problemed area. (in this case foot) then a new list pops up that reads different things that you could possibly be experancing. This list is normally quite large depending on the area of body. Some for ankle include bleeding, joint pain, Unable to bear weight, swelling, stiffness and broken bone. Say you see swelling. You would tap swelling on the list and yet another list pops up asking several questions. In this case, which side the swelling is on both sides, one side or none of the above. I clicked "both".  Next question "Swelling brought on..." and you would complete the question with an answer either by pressing moving the joint, prolonged standing or walking or none of the above. I clicked "moving the joint". Next question asks if you notice "the swelling is.." either better with rest, elevating feet, ice or none of the above. For this I just clicked "with ice" and then with that being the last question, the list of possible conditions pops up.  There is a lot listed for this one, but the number one, two and three say "Pulmonary Hypertension", "insect bites", and "burn". When you click on one of them it gives you an overview and related articles based on the symptom. It also sometimes gives you phone numbers or websites that can guide you to doctors and medical centers.

This is super handy to help you with your everyday bodily aches and pains. I hope this seems like a handy device for you to use!
